Job Connect for Employers
This program is funded by the Government of Ontario and is designed to assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining employment. We offer supportive services to the job seeker by means of employment counselling, safety certification, workshops and ongoing support. As an incentive to employers to train eligible job seekers, we can provide a partial wage subsidy. Our Job Developers work closely with the apprenticeship branch to ensure a smooth transition to apprenticeship training when applicable.

Employer Eligibility
Employers must
Be committed to providing the training needed to do the job
Not hire anyone they are directly related to (i.e. spouse, child)
Hire employees on the payroll for a minimum of 20 hours per week
Have Workplace Safety and Insurance coverage, or equivalent insurance, and third party liability insurance coverage.
New employees may not replace existing staff.

Trainee Eligibility
Youth between the ages of 16 and 24 (up to 29 with a disability)
Out of school, training and out of full time work
Not eligible for Employment Insurance programs or W.S.I.B. benefits

Duration & Subsidy
The dollar amount and duration of training subsidy is negotiated between the job developer and the employer. This amount is based upon the skills of the person who is hired and the amount of training that is involved.
Reimbursement is remitted monthly and paperwork is minimal.
Regular monitoring assists in assuring the experience is positive for both the employer and employee.
