Seasonal Active Camps Leader and Supervisor (2 Positions)
Job Description
The City of Port Colborne is hiring for both camp supervisor and camp leader positions for all Active Camps programming. Active Camps are specialized programs that focus on increasing physical literacy through sport and recreational activities for children & youth (4-13 yrs.). Active Camps programs are currently offered as full day P.A day programs, March break camp, and summer day camps. Active Camps staff lead campers in developmentally appropriate activities that teach fundamental movement skills, and develop physical literacy through active games and recreational sports in a child-centred, inclusive environment.
Camp Supervisor – Active Camps

The Camp Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and executing all seasonal summer day camp operations for Active Camps, which will include the planning, coordinating and implementing all weekly themed program plans. You will provide supervision to two (2) Camp Leaders, direct delivery of Active Camps programming at all camp locations, supervise and adhere to child protection policy for all participants, oversee administration related to the camp and provide daily feedback and communication to parents and Recreation Coordinator.
The preferred candidate will have a degree in recreation & leisure studies, physical education, kinesiology or related field and three years supervisory experience in recreation program or day camp setting, knowledge of Canadian Sport for Life-Long Term Development Plan, physical literacy program delivery and/or planning. At a minimum, the successful candidate will be enrolled in a program listed above and have one-year supervisory experience.
This is a seasonal position with a pay rate of $17.24 per hour. Please quote 2020-02 when applying.
