Full-Time Agricultural Positions – Farm and Customer Service (Multiple Positions)

Job Gym is currently assisting Mathias Farms to recruit several positions for their upcoming season!
Mathias Farms is a third generation family run fruit farm in the heart of the Niagara Region. We specialize in the growing of cherries, blackberries, and raspberries. We offer both pick-your-own and ready-picked fruit which is available at the fruit stand located on the property. We pride ourselves on using an integrated pest management system on our cherry trees while being chemical free on our raspberry and blackberry bushes.
FRUIT PICKERS
Hiring Fruit Pickers for cherry and raspberry seasons. The raspberry positions will be part time in July and September to October with day and evening shifts. The sweet cherry position will be day shift only from end of June to mid-July. Wage to be discussed.
FARM LABOURERS
This position involves maintaining or assisting in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure. This will also include yard work. This position is part time. Experience is an asset. Wage to be discussed.
REQUIREMENTS:
For the above positions, candidates must be comfortable using ladders (sweet cherry picker position only); physically fit to perform tasks; and enjoy working outdoors.
FRUIT STAND REPRESENTATIVES
This position involves operating the on-site fruit stand and Pick Your Own depots. Duties include customer service; accepting payment; answering phones and updating stock. Must be friendly and provide references. Previous experience operating a cash register is an asset but training will be provided. Customer service experience is also a bonus. Wage to be discussed.
