Requirements:

Job Summary: Spectra Venue Management is currently seeking a permanent part time Building Operator for Youngs Sportsplex located in Welland, ON. Youngs Sportsplex consists of four indoor tennis courts, one indoor full-size soccer field (divisible into three small-sided fields), three outdoor full size artificial turf soccer fields, and two outdoor full-size grass soccer fields.

The Building Operator will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the indoor and outdoor facilities. He or she will ensure smooth transitions between programming, as well as look after the set up, tear down, cleaning and maintenance of these spaces. The Building Operator will need to understand the operations of a sports facility, as well as a general knowledge of building maintenance systems.

Job Functions / Areas of Responsibility
• Ensure washrooms and changeroom facilities are cleaned daily.
• Clean around the fields daily, as well as emptying garbage bins.
• Maintain and groom soccer fields and tennis courts on a regular basis.
• Maintain the schedule of programs and leagues by performing effective program transitions.
• Set up & take down of equipment for rentals, leagues, and special events.
• Liaise with clients, team coaches and referees, addressing queries, concerns or complaints.
• Monitor the safety of all activities and programs and respond to any safety concerns.
• Provide support for special events as required.
• Liaise with bookings and other appropriate departments to ensure the smooth delivery of rentals.
• Oversee the execution of existing service agreements.
• Maintain entryways during inclement weather
• Other duties as required

Qualifications
• Previous experience in an operations or recreation capacity preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paper work.
• Ability to routinely lift heavy equipment (50 lbs).
• Positive attitude and an understanding of the physical nature of the position.
• Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.

Hours of Work:

Facility opens at 7 am; closes at midnight. Hours would include evening, weekends and holidays. Regular part-time position – 15-20 hours per week
