Job Description
IMPORTANT – Commisso’s Fresh Foods is seeking temporary staff to join our team and support our community during this unprecedented time. Anyone that is currently on layoff from their current employer may be permitted to work for Commisso’s Fresh Foods during the layoff period without jeopardising their current job or role. If you are collecting Regular Employment Insurance Benefits you can still work in a part-time capacity provided that your weekly earnings are reported to Service Canada. Commisso’s Fresh Foods offers a wide variety of products that range from our in-house kitchen and bakery, fresh meat and produce to imports from all over Europe. When choosing the right products to carry, we focus on fresh, organic and speciality products that cannot be found within Niagara Region. If you are passionate about food and are driven to provide excellent customer service to our customers; we want to meet you!
Our customers depend on us to provide excellent products and accurate knowledge when it comes to purchasing groceries for their families. In the role of a Cashier, you will play an integral role in ensuring customers are able to shop our store for the products they are looking for.
Start: ASAP.
Shifts: Days, afternoons, evenings, weekends and select holidays.
Job Type: Temporary Part Time, 3-month position with possibility to extension
Compensation: $14.00/hr + $2.00/hr premium

What you’ll do:
- Operate cash register and process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments;
- Scan items, weigh produce and bulk products, and wrap or place merchandise in bags;
- Greeting customers and answering questions in a friendly manner;
- Provide excellent customer service;
- Make product recommendations and accommodating special requests;
- Cleaning equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment;
- Complying with all Commisso’s policies and procedures and maintaining customer confidentiality.
This job is also referred to as: salesclerk, check-out clerk, store clerk, customer service attendant.

- Must be willing to work within a team environment and have a great attitude;
- Must be self motivated, efficient, and customer focused;
- Must have strong attention to detail;
- Must have strong customer service skills; and
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
