Job Description
The Niagara Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Computer Technician.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) year College diploma in a computer/technology based program with an in-depth knowledge of computer repair, programming, computer networking equipment, Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating platforms, LAN/WAN’s and Interactive Technology solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of computer systems and related peripherals
Thorough understanding of the installation, operation and maintenance of Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating system platforms
Expertise and networking systems (LAN & WAN) including network routers and switches
Prior experience in stalling Computer Software/Programs in a networked environment
Must have working knowledge of internet site administration, data driven web site development, and computer programming
Required to be skilled in the following software disciplines: word processing, database design, organization, analysis and data manipulation systems, and media authorizing systems.
Experience with specialized equipment and adaptive devices is beneficial
Trained in bench-level electronic repair of computer equipment and peripherals
Ability to perform troubleshooting and remedial actions, and maintain the operation of computers and networks
Ability to work at various locations within the Board’s jurisdiction, including access to reliable transportation
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, carrying and lifting equipment (20kg)
Ability to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed
Effective communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Time management and organization skills
