The Financial Controller role is full time, offering a highly competitive compensation package including fair wage, benefits and positive company culture. We are looking for an experienced professional to manage and maintain our organization’s financial and accounting needs.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Planning, managing and evaluating the operation of our financial department
- Developing and implementing the financial policies, systems and procedures
- Preparing and co-ordinating the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses and financial management reports
- Co-ordinating the financial planning and budget process, and analyzing and correcting estimates
- Supervising the development and implementation of financial simulation models
- Evaluating financial reporting systems, accounting procedures and making recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets and other financial control functions to senior and department managers
- Acting as liaison between the organization and its shareholders
- Notifying and reporting to senior management concerning any trends that are critical to the organization’s financial performance
Experience and Attributes:
- Minimum of five years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities
- Aptitude to identify problems, research corrective options and implement solutions
- Detailed, organized, thorough and accurate
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team while also maintaining individual tasks and deadlines
- Thrive in a fast paced environment while implementing strategies to meet strict deadlines
- Committed to professional development and ongoing learning; accepts training and direction well
- Dedicated to working in and promoting a safe work environment
Education and Training:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, commerce or a related field; Additional relevant education is an asset
- Accounting Designation (CA, CMA or CGA)
