Full-Time Hotel Reservations Lead (1 Position)
Job Description
Position: Reservations Lead
Department: Reservations
Reporting To: Reservations Manager
Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible for ensuring that reservations agents are booking reservations and performing daily job functions according to Marriott policies and standards
- Working with the Reservations Manager to help achieve sales goals, with a focus on the goal of providing exceptional guest service while maximizing revenue
- Book guest reservations from individuals and/or groups via telephone, email or fax from within the hotel in accordance with established standards and reservation scripts.
- Process reservations from sales, reservation centers, travel agencies, online travel agents and wholesalers.
- Up-sell rooms where possible according to established procedures to maximize revenues.
- Accurately enter all reservations and rooming lists into MARSHA system.
- Process cancellations, revisions and information updates on changes.
- Ensure hotel functions and services are up to date to ensure efficient response to guest inquiries.
- Provide accurate information about the city and surrounding attractions when asked by guests.
- Handle all client interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism – greet clients in a friendly and courteous manner during all interactions.
- Print and file reports.
- Stay up to date on current rates, rate changes and all hotel promotions.
- Pass on requests in a timely and accurate manner to appropriate associates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve goals.
- Ability to effectively deal with external customers, while exercising high levels of patience.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
