Job Description
The Burke Group is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer.
Hours of Work:
Full time Permanent
Requirements:
Knowledge and experience of design and drawing schematics using SolidWorks is mandatory
–B.SC. in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not required
-Minimum of 10 years ‘ experience in advanced manufacturing and/or industrial automation industry
-Experience leading engineering professionals is an asset
-Strong diagnostic, problem solving and decision-making capabilities
-Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
-Other duties as assigned
Duties:
Lead the Mechanical Engineering Group in best practices in developing robotic machinery for secondary packaging and USDA washdown specs for picking and placing unpackaged food products
-Develop and manage structured, internal mechanical design standards and templates
-Responsible for taking design projects from start to finish and applying a high level of technical, professional engineering and consulting expertise
-Prepare, review and approve designs and drawings
-Participate in client management, business development and proposal preparation activities
-Assist in new technology research and testing to improve processes
-Assist in on-site commissioning and start-up activities
-Lead and develop a team of 3-5 direct reports and all service employees indirectly
-Provide regular reports to the Engineering Manager
-Maintain and develop positive working relationships at all times
-Travel to client sites as required; up to 50%
