Job Description

Medical Administrative Assistant needed for a busy and established walk-in clinic located at 209 Glenridge Avenue, St Catharines, Ontario.

Salary: $22/hour for 30 hours per week

Terms: Permanent, Full-time

Employment Conditions: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Flexible Hours, Morning

Duties:
Interview patients to obtain case histories; Determine and establish office procedures and routines; Complete insurance and other claim forms; Clean work area; Assist in dressing wounds under the supervision of the doctor; Enter and format electronically based medical reports and correspondence and prepare spreadsheets and documents for review; Initiate and maintain confidential medical files and records; Supervise and train other staff in procedures and in use of current software; Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages; Schedule and confirm appointments; Perform general clerical work, such as order supplies and maintain inventory; Maintain filing system; Review and validate health cards; Decide which patient to see the doctor first in case of urgency; Take patients’ weight; Prepare infants for weighing and measuring.
