Full-Time Production Technician (1 Position)

Job Description

Accipiter Radar is one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of network based, tracking, surveillance radar systems and is one of Niagara Region’s most progressive and innovative companies.

As part of our continued company growth, we are expanding our Production Team, and seek a Production Technician.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, your duties will include assembly, diagnostics, repair, and field installation/deployment of the Accipiter family of radar products. As a successful Production Technician, you will possess knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Embedded computer product assembly, testing, and debugging
  • Soldering PCBs, wire crimping and cable manufacturing
  • Usage of electrical testing instrumentation (oscilloscope, multimeter)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Machining and/or a basic knowledge of working with hand and power tools
  • Understanding of Windows and Linux/Unix environments and the Microsoft Office software suite

 

You will have practical skills or the willingness to learn about rack-mount hardware assembly, machining/woodworking, and AC/DC power distribution, practical radar considerations, their assembly and operation.

This position requires travel to install/maintain fielded systems.

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Basic computer networking
  • Previous experience in a technical role
  • Experience with micro controllers and FPGAs
  • An understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software or other inventory systems

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have completed an Electronics Engineering course, or similar, which will have encompassed: computer concepts, digital systems, computer programming, computer-aided design, communications and networking, embedded system design, and Digital Signal Processing. Experience in a related field will be considered an asset.
