Plan A Hamilton Niagara is currently looking for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Nursing Students to join our qualified, dedicated, and compassionate team. We are looking for logical, dependable and knowledgeable PSWs to join our A-Team!
Hourly wage is $22/hour with an additional hourly incentive for last minute shifts.
About Plan A:
Plan A is a long-term care (LTC) staffing agency that provides a local solution for LTC homes experiencing staffing shortages across Ontario.
Job Summary:
A casual/supplemental position with Plan A is a great addition to any part-time or full-time schedule! If you are looking to earn additional income, Plan A is perfect as we only require a minimum commitment of 3 shifts per month! As a PSW with Plan A, you would be responsible for attending the LTC homes on a shift by shift basis as needed. We provide orientation with all of our homes and ensure that our staff can reach Plan A on-call personnel at all times, should the need arise. All of our staff are able to schedule their shifts themselves through the scheduling software StaffStat. StaffStat is a smartphone friendly app that sends push notifications and text messages to notify staff when a shift is available at a home they have been oriented with.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The specific responsibilities and duties vary slightly from home to home, as well as from shift to shift. These expectations will be communicated during the site-specific orientation to each home, but generally, PSWs are expected to provide personal care to residents, safely assist with ADLs including toileting, transferring, bathing and feeding.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of a recognized Ontario PSW program or completion of a first-year Ontario nursing program (mandatory)
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Hardworking, compassionate, positive, solution-oriented, professional, flexible and dependable
- LTC experience (preferred)
