Licensed Automotive Technician – Service Department
Who We Are
TVG International is an OMVIC Approved Pre-Owned Car Dealership in Niagara Falls, close to 5 corners and neighbours to Brock Ford & Niagara Chrysler. We’ve been in the industry now for 4 years, our Dealer Principal well over 10 years and we’ve been seeing amazing results in Niagara Falls! Our Goal here at TVG is to have franchise equivalent service/quality without the lofty franchise store fees(And the Stuffy Suit/Ties). We’re a friendly store that actually care about our customers and our staff. We focus on bringing awesome new vehicles into the region, mainly imports and not breaking our customers wallets. Over the last 3 years our sales team has been able to hit this goal and its created a real following in the Region. Now it’s time to continue the momentum and open our very own Service Division. Why? Cause there’s a serious need for improvement in Niagara and we’re going to bring it! We’re super excited for this division as we plan to dramatically increase our standards, dramatically increase what customers in Niagara Falls can expect and most importantly we plan to have a volume-based approach where our prices will be very aggressive and our service top-notch!
What to Expect
For our future techs, we deal with 4-5 year old vehicles, vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Land Rover, Range Rover, and others with strong plans to start working with Porsche, Jaguar, Bentley and other Luxury Automakers. With that in mind every now and then we might get in a ’08 Hyundai Tucson we need to move. The ideal technician for us here is someone that’s clean, looking to grow, enjoy’s working on vehicle’s that might be challenging, is good at researching through forums, working with scanners/computers, working with others in the field and basically get’s the job done no matter the odds.We’re not looking for a magician we get that, but we are looking for someone that’s technologically inclined as well as mechanical. ***We want to re-iterate we are looking for a clean individual! For this venture we’ve built a completely brand new shop on our lot with all brand new tools, lifts and more and we want to keep it that way! If all goes well we plan to coat the floors of our shop to give it a high-end shop feel so cleanliness is extremely important to us***
Job Details
What you can expect is a job that starts off with guaranteed part-time hours, that will quickly move to full-time hours as we increase business. You can expect benefits after you show us your commitment including health, dental & family options (6 months & full-time status), you can expect to be working on some seriously epic vehicles including Corvette’s, Porsche’s, Jaguar’s, Range Rover’s and more. You can also expect to work on our upcoming Race vehicles as plan’s are currently underway to develop our race team. So all in all, this can be a very exciting space, for the right individual! We are seeking a Licensed Tech, 310S. We sell vehicles here so you’ll need to sign off on safety certificates and more so keep that in mind. We also want someone who knows what they’re talking about, has industry experience and isn’t afraid to use a computer.
Primary duties of the position will include:
- Servicing our lot vehicles and customers cars from oil changes, lube jobs, changing control arms, bushings, fuel lines, fluid flushes etc.
- Being able to do complete engine replacements, engine overhauls, engine rebuilds, transmission replacements etc.
- Has a good handling with technology and posses their own scan-tools, able to work on BMW, Mercedes, and more with a good knowledge of the vehicle and it’s electrical/mechanical workings.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Read schematics and follow assembly instructions/samples.
- The ideal candidate will be a hands on individual who is comfortable using hand tools and air tools.
- Permanent Part Time (20Hrs/Week) with growth to Full Time.
Salary and Benefits:
- Start: $20/hr Pay range: $20-$25/hr depending on tools owned & experience
- 20hours per week guaranteed
- Group insurance benefits after successful completion of probationary period (6 months) and enrolment to full-time status
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario
Education: Completion of high school, 310S equivalent college/university course
Languages: Fluent in English
Weight Handling: Up to 23kg (50lbs)
Own tools/Equipment: Must own your own auto tools required for jobs including computers & scan tools etc. Must also possess valid Driver’s Licence with Clean Driving History.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and standing for extended periods
Transportation/Travel information: Own transportation
Essential Skills: Reading text, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working well with others, problem solving, job planning and organizing
