Seasonal Seasonal Beach Coordinator, Nickel Beach (1 Position)

Job Description

The City of Port Colborne operates the public beach known as Nickel Beach and has a full time seasonal beach coordinator position available with the Parks & Recreation Department.

 

Nickel Beach is located on Lake Erie at the southern end of Welland Street at Lake Street, close to the down town Port Colborne.  Nature lovers enjoy exploring the sand dune formations, Carolinian Forest and home to the Fowler Toad, a protected species.  The public beach contains more than 2 km of white sands, shady picnic spots, washrooms, swimming and open areas for recreational activities such as beach volleyball or beach soccer.

 

Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator & Supervisor of Nickel Beach, you will ensure the customer experience at the beach including cash control, general upkeep of the beach/park property amenities and facilities and supervision and scheduling of the summer staff.

 

You have a secondary school diploma, post-secondary education in Parks and Recreation or equivalent preferred.  You have a minimum of two years supervisory experience in customer service, preferably within a parks & recreation municipal setting, beach front experience is an asset.
