Full-Time Shipping Coordinator/Customer Service Rep

A fulltime day shift position as a Shipping Coordinator and Customer Service Representative at a heavy industrial facility located in Niagara Falls for $20/hour.

A heavy industrial facility is looking for an experienced Office Administrator with strong customer service skills to join their team. This position is responsible for organizing the shipping of reinforced steel and related products. In addition, this position is responsible for ordering wire mesh and other miscellaneous products and taking rebar orders. The successful candidate will interact on a daily basis with customers coordinating their reinforcing steel needs. You will be the liaison between the shops and customers and have the ability to deal with conflicts and provide appropriate and timely resolutions to customer’s needs. Solid communication and interpersonal skills are essential with a strong personality to handle the daily conflicts that come from this challenging position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer general telephone inquiries about industrial and steel products
  • Provide backup to Inside Sales when required
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with company rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Perform all duties associated with the shipping function of rebar products, including:
  • Receive customer orders and advise customer when material will be available
  • Receive or generate production tags
  • Organize tag files
  • Issue tags to Production Supervisor
  • Post schedule board and updates with customer delivery details
  • Receive information from the Production Supervisor and or Production Manager regarding order progress
  • Coordinate delivery of materials with customers and make note of when and where placers are required
  • Enter order information into database, as required
  • Order wire mess and supplies as required
  • Receive and forward bill of lading for incoming rebar and wire mesh products
  • Contact couriers and or carriers to coordinate pick-up and delivery of drawings and other items, as required
  • Receive monthly stock length sales information from accounting and maintain a monthly chart of stock length quotes and sales
  • Generate and issue the appropriate bill of lading to comply with invoicing requirements.
  • Schedule and coordinate delivery of materials with customers
  • Print bar lists and tags

Job Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education in office administration or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Able to maintain filing systems, databases, and basic diary/minutes management
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
  • Strong customer service orientation

This position is not suitable for students

Wage: $20/hour

Shifts: Mondays to Fridays, 7am to 3pm

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
