Full-Time Tester (1 Position)
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Conducts point-to-point testing and unit testing according to company procedures
- Conducts continuity tests to verify that all wires that do not connect to a plug are located on the board correctly
- Troubleshoot failed product to identify reasons for failure
- Visually inspect test cables, extensions and red tag sample for damaged terminals. Also verify that all cables connected to
- Marks items for acceptance or rejection, records test results and inspection data, and compares findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards
- Cleans and maintains test equipment and instruments to ensure proper functioning
- Carries out tasks/activities according to company & safety policies, standards, and ISO procedures
Qualifications (Education & Skills Required):
- Mechanically inclined, must be able to use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, cutters, pliers, etc.
- Math skills such as calculations and conversions from metric to standard
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to use measuring equipment, tape measure, vernier, caliper, etc
- Must be familiar and knowledgeable in the use of tools, insertion and extraction equipment, point-to-point testers, cablescan units, and materials and their application
- Must be able to read and comprehend reading of blueprints, understand the requirements for quality control and machining tolerances, and set-up and layout of contracts
- Must be a team player with good communication skills
- Must appreciate and acknowledge working responsibilities and authorities within the EDP organization
- Have working knowledge of ISO 9001-2000 requirements and standards
