Tourism/Visitor Information Counselors are an important link between the visitor and the service providers. They provide information and advice to the general public about visitor attractions, amenities, events, accommodations, transportation, weather and other facilities in Port Colborne and the Niagara Region.

 

You will be responsible for answering questions from the general public through all channels of communication and provide information specific to Port Colborne and the Niagara Region, distribute promotional materials and promote tourism products. You will also maintain count of visitors served; preparing statistical report, gather information and develop new resources and perform administrative tasks such as inventory and ordering.

 

You must have a secondary school diploma and have superior communication and customer service skills. You must be outgoing, self-motivated and personable to excel in this position and have knowledge of attractions, events and the local area. Research, inventory and administrative and time management skills are an asset. Additionally, knowledge of a second language is an asset.

Hours are part-time, working on Saturday and Sunday only.

Hourly salary: $14.50
