Full-Time Community Development Worker (2 Positions)
Job Description
The Community Development Worker will carry a caseload of schools with student nutrition programs.
Providing:
- Support to programs with budgeting, access to funding, resources, best practices, reporting, food delivery, ordering and safe food handling
- Assistance with menu development and ensuring adherence to the Ministry of Child Community and Social Services Nutrition Guidelines
- Direct work with site-based volunteers and school staff for the delivery of programs
- Fundraising support
- Community engagement, special events and grant writing support
- Any other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager
Requirements:
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
- Excellent networking and collaboration skills to be able to foster additional partnership stakeholders
- Knowledge of child nutrition and the impact of student nutrition programs
- Experience working with volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, meeting regular monthly reporting timelines
- Excellence in working with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse communities and sectors
- Access to a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance (regular travel in local area required)
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- French is considered an asset
