Job Description

The Community Development Worker will carry a caseload of schools with student nutrition programs.

Providing:

Support to programs with budgeting, access to funding, resources, best practices, reporting, food delivery, ordering and safe food handling
Assistance with menu development and ensuring adherence to the Ministry of Child Community and Social Services Nutrition Guidelines
Direct work with site-based volunteers and school staff for the delivery of programs
Fundraising support
Community engagement, special events and grant writing support
Any other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager

Requirements:

Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
Excellent networking and collaboration skills to be able to foster additional partnership stakeholders
Knowledge of child nutrition and the impact of student nutrition programs
Experience working with volunteers
Demonstrated ability to work independently, meeting regular monthly reporting timelines
Excellence in working with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse communities and sectors
Access to a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance (regular travel in local area required)
Post-secondary education or equivalent
French is considered an asset
