Maxuc Trading Ltd is engaged in the Recycling industry, with huge sales and business expansion. The second plant in Hamilton, Ontario is about to be put into operation. In order to support our larger business volume, more complex invoicing, and more complicated upstream and downstream Resources and the management needs of more employees, Maxuc urgently needs a Computer programmer.

The Computer programmer is an experienced developer position that works primarily in design, coding, testing, and supporting software products and related materials in the Heavy Equipment industry. The Computer programmer performs tasks using formal software development methodologies and departmental procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, modify, integrate and test software code
  • Maintain existing computer programs by making modifications as required
  • Identify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions
  • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software
  • Create program specifications to ensure proper direction during development
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements
  • Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications
  • May lead and co-ordinate teams of computer programmers
  • May research and evaluate a variety of software products.

Education & Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience required.
  • Experience in program design and Analysis.
  • Experience and training in formal testing methods helpful.

Skills:

  • Exposure to a breadth of programming languages with expert level proficiency in at least one language. C++, Java, Spring, and Angular are an asset.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and demonstrate problem solving and resourcefulness in obtaining information.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Work as a team member, with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated time management and completion of tasks to a definite deadline.
