Part-Time Congregational Designated Youth Minister (CDM) (1 Position)
Job Description
We are looking to hire a Congregational Designated Youth Minister (CDM) to work 10 hours per week.
Duties:
To carry out a faith based program for children and youth at First Grantham United church during our regular CDM’s maternity leave. This person will consult with the Faith Formation Committee and the Minister in matters relating to program content and scheduling of meetings and events, while determining the actual format of meetings and events. This person may be authorized to make expenditures for youth work within the annual operating budget of the family ministry’s program.
Administration:
Administrative support will be provided when requested.
Will be asked to attend staff meetings.
Denomination and Communities:
Will be encouraged to take part in Youth Ministry network ZOOM meetings.
Faith Formation and Christian Education:
Will attend and report to Faith Formation Committee meetings
Will plan and carry out Christian Education programs for Children and Youth, ages 5-18, that take into account the current COVID 19 protocols. ( in-person/ZOOM)
Will be able to reference plans and resources created by current CDM.
Self-care:
Will set goals for ongoing self-care by maintaining a healthy balance of one’s own physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Worship:
Will participate in worship with youth when required. i.e. Christmas program.
Requirements:
Will have computer and technology expertise.
Will have previous leadership experience with children and youth.
Will be required to present a current Police Check.
Will be required to provide references.
Will have knowledge of and will honour, the beliefs and traditions of the United Church of Canada.
Will have proof of full Covid Vaccination
