Full-Time Experienced Plumber or 3rd Year Apprentice (1 Position)

Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of plumbing duties within commercial, residential renovation and new construction projects. The successful candidate will have proven customer service, ability to work as a team and professionalism. This position is Niagara-based, full time, offering a schedule of Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm.  No weekends.  Wage will be negotiated based on experience.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct reporting to the General Manager
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
  • Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Maintain professionalism and superior customer service
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring health and safety is adhered to
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with coworkers and managers

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3rd year apprentice
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and clean drivers abstract
  • Company vehicles available for candidates over 25 years old (due to insurance requirements); candidates under 25 years old will be required to drive their own vehicle
  • Physically fit, able to stand, bend, crouch and lift while carrying objects of varying weights
  • Team player with cooperative attitude
  • Strong work ethic
