Position Summary: |
Under the supervision of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, the Finance Manager will contribute to all aspects of the financial and general business that will assist with the financial direction of NRNC. The Financial Manager will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment where the main responsibility is to provide sound bookkeeping services and financial analysis for the NRNC in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal/Provincial legislation and NRCN policies and procedures as determined by the Board of Directors of NRNC. |

Qualifications: |
The Qualifications required for this position include:
· Completion of post-secondary education and/or industry courses relevant to Accounting or Finance; · Extensive knowledge and/or lived experience with First Nations, Métis, or Inuit culture, including history, perspectives, values, spirituality, and community life. · In-depth knowledge of urban Indigenous community needs, solutions, trends, and gaps. · Extensive and current knowledge of legislation, practices, standards and policies in delivery of social, cultural, recreational, educational, health services to urban Indigenous peoples; · Experience and knowledge of the functions of a Board of Directors and working with urban Indigenous members, community, and volunteers; · Ability to communicate and positively interact with a diversity of stakeholders · Knowledge of Human Resources management in Ontario · Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Legislation applicable to employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, charities, taxation · Knowledge of non-profit organizations · Police Criminal Check- must have a current clearance report along with a vulnerable sector check. · Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation |
