Grumpy Gramma’s is an award winning food truck, recognized by Readers Choice 2020 and 2021 in multiple categories, including Best Food Truck, Best Customer Service, Best Fast Food, Best French Fries/Hamburger/Poutine, Best Take Out and Best Lunch! This year Grumpy Gramma’s is excited to launch their 2022-2023 season in a new, bigger, improved food truck at 652 River Road, Welland. In addition to the change of trailer, the food truck will also be featuring some fancy new upgrades, increased hours of operation and new menu items!
Job Gym is assisting Grumpy Gramma’s Food Truck to recruit new team members! Grumpy Gramma’s offers a positive work culture, where all team members are respected and work collaboratively to create an enjoyable atmosphere while striving to be a stand out company in the food truck industry!
COOK
This position will offer approximately 25 hours per week. The team member in this role will support the owners in preparing and cooking menu items, in accordance with customer preferences. Duties will also include cleaning work area and equipment; interacting with customers – providing a high level of customer care; and as needed, assisting cashier with taking orders and processing payments. A person with some previous short order cooking experience or training is preferred. Shifts will vary in this role, scheduled between 9am to 7pm Monday to Saturday or 9am to 4pm on Sundays.
CASHIER
This is a casual position, offering 1 to 2 shifts per week and is ideal for a student looking for extra hours in the evenings or weekends. The team member in this role will be responsible for greeting customers, taking orders and payments, communicating with cooking staff and packaging meals for take out. Previous POS experience is an asset.

• We’re a happy crew and want to keep that going! Looking for individuals with positive attitudes and outgoing personalities! We don’t have enough wall space for any wallflowers!
• The food truck business can be a wild ride! Those that enjoy working through rushes and are energized in a fast pace environment would do best here.
• When we’re hot, we’re hot! And when it’s cold…we turn on heaters but it can still get chilly! We are in a food truck outdoors so a level of comfort with changing temperatures is must!
• We’re a team! We don’t have a ‘that’s not my job’ mentality. Everyone helps everyone with all tasks to make sure our customer needs are met and everyone can get home on time!
• If you have the Safe Food Handling certification – great! If not, we will train you! As a matter of fact, if you have the right personality, work ethic and willingness to learn, we’ll train you on how to do everything included in your role!
• People that won’t give us a hard time about safety protocols in regards to COVID-19. We follow all public health recommendations and need our staff to too! We are committed to keeping our staff and customers as safe as possible.
