Full-Time Housekeeping Supervisor (1 Position)
Job Description
- Take a lead role in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department and team.
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager with creating, monitoring and adjusting the housekeeping schedule.
- Work closely with the housekeeping team members to coach, motivate and engage while ensuring tasks are assigned and completed in a timely fashion.
- Performs personnel procedures including but not limited to daily time approvals, assignment of work tasks and assignments, resolving employee concerns and conflicts, and corrective counseling as required in a timely, competitive and fair manner.
- Perform administrative duties including but not limited to emailing weekly schedule, inventory, responding to emails in a timely and courteous manner, etc.
- Ensure agreed standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all guest rooms and public/common areas.
- Organize the day to day work requirements and set required standards against which work will be checked.
- Conduct pre and post shift meetings as required.
- Ensure that special requests from guests are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that any complaints or feedback from team members and guests are dealt with in a professional, timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that office, supply areas, and carts and materials are kept clean and organized at all times.
- Work with the Housekeeping Manager in training new Housekeeping and Laundry team members.
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that guest expectations are consistently being met and where possible exceeded.
- Complete room checks as assigned in a thorough and timely manner.
- Collect assigned rooms and other duties as required.
- Turn over any lost and found items upon discovery to the Housekeeper Manager.
- Ensure a pleasant and courteous manner to guests and fellow team members at all times.
- Perform the duties of a Room Attendant as required from time to time.
- Perform the duties of a Laundry Attendant as required from time to time.
- Be available and understand that evenings, weekends and holidays are an integral component of the position.
- All other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Manager.
Professional Qualifications:
- Completion of Secondary School
- Basic literacy in English
- Must have previous lead experience
- Must be computer proficient
- Previous Opera experience preferred
Personal Qualities:
- Capable of prioritizing work and handling a variety of tasks
- Detail-oriented
Physical Requirements:
- Some lifting required
- Required to have good physical stamina
- Standing and walking through the majority of the shift
