POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the President, the Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for successfully managing and executing all operational HR functions and acting as a strategic business partner by ensuring HR policies, procedures, and systems both support and align with organizational values, goals, and objectives. The HR Manager must proactively oversee full-cycle recruitment, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, training and development, health and safety, policy and culture development and HR planning initiatives.

The HR Manager is responsible for ensuring that all human resources are being used efficiently and effectively and must work closely with the management team to foster strong employment relationships built on clarity, trust, communication, and a mutual understanding of organizational expectations and strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational HR

  • Execute and oversee full-cycle recruiting.
  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies, practices, and procedures to ensure legal compliance with all legislative requirements and employment standards.
  • Manage and oversee compensation and benefits administration.
  • Advise, counsel and coach managers on a number of HR-related activities and best practices.
  • Facilitate healthy work relationships by addressing demands, complaints, and other issues in a timely and supportive manner.
  • Implement, promote, and maintain a robust performance management system.
  • Develop and implement training initiatives and programs that address organizational gaps and support employee growth and development.
  • Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary and termination procedures.
  • Lead the implementation of health and safety programs, report on workplace health and safety compliance, and monitor OSHA-required data.
  • Carry out necessary administrative duties and HRIS functions.
  • Maintain employee and workplace privacy at all times.
  • Collaborate with managers to Identify and recommend areas of improvement relating to HR functions.

Strategic HR

  • Act as a strategic business partner by ensuring HR policies, procedures and systems are aligned with and support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Manage the process of strategic HR planning.
  • Manage employee communication and feedback channels.
  • Nurture a positive environment and workplace culture.
  • Monitor HR trends and analyze relevant HR data to create clear and concise HR reports.
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company; minimize risks.
  • Perform all other related duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years’ experience in a professional HR role, required.
  • Degree, diploma and/or certification in Human Resources Management, preferred.
  • Completion of CHRP/CHRL designation, preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
