Full-Time HVAC Technician / Apprentice / Assistant

Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for working with the team to complete service calls within commercial, residential renovation and new construction projects. The successful candidate will have proven customer service, ability to work as a team and professionalism. This position is Niagara-based, full time, offering a schedule of Monday to Friday from 7:20am to 4:00pm. No weekends. Wage will be negotiated based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the candidate will assist with:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings or other specifications
  • Measuring and laying out reference points for installation
  • Assembling and installing refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools
  • Measuring and cutting piping, and connecting piping using welding and brazing equipment
  • Installing, troubleshooting and overhauling entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Starting up system and testing for leaks using testing devices
  • Recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators, calibrating system and performing routine maintenance or servicing
  • Repairing and replacing parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with coworkers and managers

Requirements:

  • Our ideal candidate will be a certified HVAC Technician, however we will consider apprentices or assistants who have some HVAC knowledge and experience
  • Must have a valid G driver’s licence and clean drivers abstract
  • Company vehicles available for candidates over 25 years old (due to insurance requirements)
  • Physically fit, able to stand, bend, crouch and lift while carrying objects of varying weights
  • Team player with cooperative attitude
  • Strong work ethic
