Student Indigenous Community Garden Worker (1 Position)

Job Description

The Indigenous community garden worker will assist in the planning and maintenance of the Niagara Regional Native Centre garden. Knowledge of Indigenous community and history is crucial to supporting the Friendship Centre movement.

  • To assist in maintaining the NRNC garden
  • To gain an understanding and support the work towards food security for Indigenous families
  • Assist by applying cultural teachings to garden and food work at the Centre
  • Assist with the clean up after activities

Qualifications

  • Must be between the ages of 15-30 at time of employment
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work outside on hot days
  • Valid driver’s licences would be definite asset
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Satisfactory criminal records check
