Job Description
APPRENTICE MACHINIST
Purpose:
The Apprentice Machinist is self-motivated, and results driven individual who is organized, analytical with exceptional communication and team fostering skills. As an Apprentice Machinist, you are committed to providing attentive support for internal parties, ensuring consistent, efficient operations according to Girotti Machine standards.
Critical Success Factors:
- Time management and interpersonal communication skills
- Theoretical knowledge of standard machining practices
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Ambition and drive to learn and grow
- Participate and support other aspects of the organization
- Able to excel in high pressure situation
Overall Expectations:
- Experience with machining techniques using machinery including but not limited to manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, horizontal boring mills, hand and power tools etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manual specifications or sample parts
- Ability to participate in job planning and execution including but not limited to programming, setting up, operating and basic maintenance of machinery and machining centres,
- Accurately verify dimensions of machined parts to specifications using precision measuring equipment under supervision as required
- Perform special projects in support of the organizations business objectives as required
- Report all issues to Manager and/or QC as required
- Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
- Willing attitude towards learning and professional development
- Further develop and enhance company culture
- Perform other duties as required by Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certification
- Preferred Machinist Apprenticeship Program or Pre-Apprenticeship Program
- Capable of physical demands including heavy lifting with assistance.
- Proficient in reading and writing English
Reporting Relationships:
The position Apprentice Machinist reports directly to the Plant Manager.
MACHINIST

- Willingness to participate and support other aspects of the organization
- Able to excel in high pressure situation

- Trained in ISO 9001-2015 and N299 requirements and standards
- Experience with machining techniques using machinery including but not limited to manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, horizontal boring mills, hand and power tools etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manual specifications or sample parts
- Proficient in job planning and execution including but not limited to programming, setting up, operating and basic maintenance of machinery and machining centres,

Qualifications:
- Preferred Machinist Apprenticeship Program, General Machinist Certificate, or relevant experience (grandfathered)
- Experience with 2D CAD/ 3D Modeling & CAM software considered a major asset
- Capable of physical demands including heavy lifting with assistance.
- Proficient in reading and writing English
Reporting Relationships:
The position Machinist reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Welder
Purpose:
The Welder is self-motivated, and results driven individual who is organized, analytical with exceptional communication and team fostering skills. As a Welder, you are committed to providing attentive support for internal parties, ensuring consistent, efficient operations according to Girotti Machine standards.

- Strong knowledge of welding repair and technical techniques
- Time management and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of standard welding practices
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Willingness to participate and support other aspects of the organization
- Able to excel in high pressure situation
Overall Expectations:
- Trained in ISO 9001-2015 and N299 requirements and standards
- Effectively utilize all welding techniques & processes including but not limited to oxy-acetylene torch, FCAW, MCAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW as required
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manual specifications, or sample parts
- Proficient in job planning and execution including but not limited to fixturing, laying out, pre-heating, fitting, welding and cleaning welds etc.
- Accurately verify dimensions of welded parts to specifications using precision measuring equipment
- Perform special projects in support of the organizations business objectives
- Continuous training and certification of all applicable Welder Qualifications as required
- Contributes to the research and development of ideas for new and existing jobs
- Report all issues to Manager and/or QC as required
- Actively engaged in mentoring trainees and apprentices
- Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
- Further develop and enhance company culture
- Perform other duties as required by Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years welding experience in a fabrication shop environment
- CWB Certified Welding Certificates for W47.1
- Capable of physical demands including heavy lifting with assistance.
- Proficient in reading and writing English

The position Welder reports directly to the Welding Supervisor.
