H&S HEAT TREATING – An IMT Precision Partner (Port Robinson)
GENERAL LABOUR – FURNACE OPERATOR
In this role, you will perform all operations required for the operation of atmospheric furnaces
Skill/Effort Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or heat treating environment is preferred but not required
- Ability to lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds, repeatedly during the course of the shift
- Attention to detail an commitment to producing high-quality work
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and the ability to follow safety guidelines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Forklift license is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Execute all tasks associated with heat-treating processes, including but not limited to loading and unloading furnaces, furnace operation, and overseeing all setups, such as monitoring temperature and atmosphere conditions.
- Notify the production supervisor promptly of any potential delays, challenges in meeting delivery schedules, or issues related to heat-treating tasks.
- Configure appropriate parameters such as temperatures, durations, and speeds based on the information provided in FCR/cycle sheets.
- Complete and document processing details on the designated load sheets, ensuring accurate and comprehensive record-keeping.
- Perform quality assurance checks specified for the load and document the outcomes on the provided forms.
- Report any deviations from quality standards to the QA department and seek guidance on necessary corrective actions.
- Assist the QA inspector in fulfilling all quality assurance responsibilities within the production center.
- Alert the plant manager to any maintenance requirements.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring the absence of spills, debris, and waste.
- Undertake any other duties as directed.
MILLWRIGHT
General Description
As a Millwright, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of our mechanical systems, helping to ensure that our production processes run smoothly.
Skill/Effort Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certification as a Millwright is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Millwright in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in the use of precision tools and instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.

Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and align machinery and equipment, including but not limited to furnaces, conveyors, pumps, and compressors, following blueprints and technical specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, lubricating, and replacing worn or defective parts to ensure the reliability and longevity of machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, making necessary repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment. Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly.
- Utilize precision tools and instruments to ensure accurate alignment and calibration of machinery and equipment.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks as required for equipment repairs and modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to optimize workflow and minimize disruptions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations for enhancing equipment performance and reliability.
PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
General Description

Skill/Effort Requirements
- Previous experience in Automotive/Defence/OEM production facility

Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations with a primary focus on safety, quality, on-time delivery and production requirements
- Provide clear and professional leadership, offering constructive feedback and guidance to Production Associates
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support problem solving initiatives within the manufacturing process
- Champion the implementation and adherence to 5S methodology to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Develop and implement best practices to enhance departmental activities and overall efficiency
- Enforce company policies and procedures, including necessary disciplinary actions when required
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive training program covering all aspects of production for employees

QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR
General Description
As a Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in the production of forged components. You will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating quality control activities throughout the manufacturing process, conducting inspections, implementing quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality and process efficiency.
Skill/Effort Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a forge plant.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, tools, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and specifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, ASME).
- Proficiency in using measurement and testing equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Monitor production units for all quality within the company both defence and hammer shops
- Interface effectively and support all departments
- Measure production product and store data for accessibility
- Generate and involved with last off process to determine future tooling condition
- Maintain test pieces are logged and issued
- Maintain proper documentation is the current revision and is neat and legible
- Issue corrective actions when product is non conforming
- Assist in calibration, incoming tooling inspection and CMM layout when needed
- Assist General Foreman between supervisor shift change as well when foreman is on vacation
- Ensure all heat codes and tagging containers is correct
- Maintain Steel Suppliers Material Certification
- Maintain Customer Certificates of Conformity
Maintain Special Test Status Reports - Maintain production/inspection of SPC charts/data
- SPC data entry and compiling new charts
- Maintain up to date quality assurance documents, inspection test plans, customer/supplier correspondence
- Engineering levels, specification requirements etc
- Maintain Defence shipments and all paperwork associated
- Perform internal audits
