Job Description

St. Catharines Building Supplies has proudly served Niagara builders, contractors and individuals since 1968!  We’re a full-line lumber and building supply dealer-plus, we carry one of the largest indoor and outdoor display of building and landscaping in the Niagara Region including an outstanding selection of exterior finishes such as brick, stone, veneer and masonry supplies.  We inventory a full and of drywall, insulation, lumber and plywood, siding, steel studs, as well as concrete repair products.

As an inside Salesperson you will:

  • Operate cash registers, manage financial transaction, and balance drawers
  • Determine customer’s needs by asking open-ended questions
  • Develop ongoing relationships with customers
  • Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
  • Process orders for pick-up and delivery
  • Pick, organize and verify orders for delivery or pick-up
  • Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Friendly & helpful attitude toward customers
  • Become highly knowledgeable in all products sold
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, and ensure that price tags are up to date
  • Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries or direct caller if required
  • Co-operate with fellow employees to create a friendly work environment
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Our ideal candidate will have a combination of sales and home improvement industry experience
  • Previous sales experience an asset
  • Self-starter
  • Team player
  • Dependable and reliable
  • An action-oriented attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Highly motivated
