Job Description

Responsible to the Vice President of Sales for all logistics activities. Organizes and manages logistical activities including shipping of materials and finished goods, outgoing courier and mail packages, preparation, and distribution of documentation for international and domestic shipping, obtaining common carrier quotes and subsequent issuance of purchase orders.

Act as coordinator for every step of the freight and logistics process to ensure that inbound and outbound products arrives on time and on spec. Work to negotiate the best price and most efficient methods for effective delivery of goods.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Sourcing appropriate vendors and rates that fit our needs and budgets

• Developing excellent relationships with vendors and communicating about any issues or concerns that arise during the shipping process

• Communicating logistical information to customers

• Advising on optimal transportation activities such as routing, equipment, and schedules for delivery

• Monitoring existing logistics processes and making suggestions for improvements, when needed

• Creating and enforcing policies and practices for logistics activities that focus on effectiveness sustainability, and efficiency

• Keeping track of delivery metrics (Ex: damages, time of deliveries) and conducting related audits

• Analyzing logistical patterns and industry trends to predict product requirements

• Complying with all laws and regulations

• Maintain HS tariff codes database

• Management of all vehicles in corporate truck fleet including booking trucks and trailer annual safety, booking and maintaining the trucks service schedules, dealing with issues of trucks on the road, work with VP of Operations for driver availability for any logistic deliveries

• Complete all applicable shipping documents and paperwork including cross-border paperwork

• Management and maintenance of all driver programs (IFTA, CVOR, U.S. DOT, Driver Check)

• Other duties as required

Position Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of experience in a logistics role

• Experience in a manufacturing setting and understanding of supply chains

• Client service oriented with related experience (both internal and external)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Comfortable with speaking to suppliers and customers on the phone

• Able to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications

• Must appreciate and acknowledge working responsibilities and authorities within the organization

• Be familiar with ISO 9001-2015 documentation requirements

• Be familiar with Health and Safety Rules and Regulations
