Job Description
Purpose:
The Machinist is self-motivated and results driven individual who is organized, analytical with exceptional communication and team fostering skills. As a Machinist, you are committed to providing attentive support for internal parties, ensuring consistent, efficient operations according to Girotti Machine standards.
Critical Success Factors:
- Knowledge of computer software programs, tools and machines used in the trade
- Trained in ISO 9001-2008 and Z299 requirements and standards
- Willingness to participate and support other aspects of the organization
Overall expectations:
- Communicate effectively with all team members and management
- Experience with machining techniques using machinery including but not limited to lathes, vertical lathes, vertical mills, horizontal boring mills, slotter, key setter, hydraulic presses, overhead cranes, saws and drill presses etc.
- Read and interpret blue prints, sketches, drawings, manual specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions surface finishes and tolerances of finished work pieces
- Accurately verify dimensions of machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments including but not limited to micrometers, verniers, height, gauges, depth micrometer, thread gauges and other specialized instruments
- Experience with maintenance and set up of profiler tooling
- Interpret all work-related drawings
- Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
- Further enhance company culture
- All other duties as required from Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 years machining experience
- Machinist Apprenticeship Program, General Machinist Certificate or relevant experience (grandfathered) preferred
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Able to excel in high pressure situations
- Capable of physical demands including lifting up to 50lbs
- Proficient in reading and writing English
Reporting Relationships:
The position Machinist reports directly to the Shop Foreman.
