Full-Time Maintenance Electrician – Greenhouse (1 Position)
Job Description
Pioneer Flower Farms Limited is one of the largest bulb forcing farms in North America producing over 60 million blooms per year. We work with the best bulb stock growers in Holland to produce quality cut flowers and potted plants at our modern, state of the art facility in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Pioneer is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician who can become an integral part of our greenhouse operation. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative and passionate, able diagnose problems and find answers when it appears there are none.
Some of the main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshoot and complete routine repairs on machines, equipment and robotics to minimize down time
- Installation and testing of new machines, equipment and related control panels
- Perform regular preventive electrical maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities as directed
- Install, connect and disconnect 3 phase motors
- Pull conduits and power wires
- Program inverters for motor speed controls
- Design and assemble control boxes for production lines and conveyors
- Install valves, sensors, switches, contactors and overload protection
- Repair automatic doors including wheels, adjust limits and photosensors
- Repair household appliances in employee housing
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant electrical experience
- Strong knowledge of robotics and controls
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Able to analyze and reason problems and issues
- Attention to detail, cleanliness, and good aesthetic sense
- Highly self-motivated, positive attitude, adaptable, organized
- Ability to work calmly, prioritize tasks, and complete them under tight deadlines
- Ability to work well alone for long periods of time and in a team
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with sometimes limited supervision
Job type: Full-time (40-45 hours per week), permanent
Wage: negotiable based on experience and performance
Other job-related conditions:
- Walking and standing throughout the day
- Willing to work Monday-Saturday and varied hours according to needs
