Full-Time Maintenance Mechanic Helper
Job Description
Under general supervision, performs general maintenance duties or minor technical tasks required to maintain structures and equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Fixing/maintaining machines
- Perform building maintenance as required including: fixing heaters, electrical issues, gas, changing compressor oil, working on roof (fixing heaters, changing filters)
- Removing/installing/connecting lighting panels/outlets, etc.
- Welding (able to learn)
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as requested
- Conducts minor interior and exterior repairs
- Loads or unloads material, parts or products
Job Requirements
- Minimum high school education to completion of technical program
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical wiring
- Lifting and physical exertion required
- Must be fluent in English
- Available to work Saturdays, as needed
- Able to use a variety of hand and power tools is a must
- Mechanically inclined is a must
Job Duties
- Test and observe electrical, electronic and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment
- Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components
- Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
- Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
- Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other parts
- Support Preventative Maintenance work on-site.
