Job Description

Maintenance Millwright – PERMANENT – $40.19/hr to start + benefits**

** benefits 100% company covered (minus a one time a year deduction) + pension plan (fully company funded)

SHIFT: Days – 8 hr shifts (2 weeks of Sunday to Thursday, and 4 weeks of Monday to Friday)

LOCATION: Fort Erie, Ontario

Qualifications / Requirements:

* Industrial Millwright (433A) certification (Red Seal)
* 5 yrs+ experience in a mechanical maintenance role in an industrial environment ; any food production facility experience an asset
* Must have experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment
* Competency with robotics, pumps, presses and material handling systems
* Able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer’s manuals to determine how a problem is to be approached
* Basic knowledge in welding, machining, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills required
* Good communication and interpersonal skills required
* Able to communicate effectively with peers and managers
* Able to work effectively independently or in a team
* Able to create material lists and provide input on most efficient install options for equipment and perform the installs
* Strong safety orientation and ability to follow proper safety procedures (i.e Lock-Out / Tag-Out, etc.) with a ‘do it right the first time’ mentality
* Self-sufficient and team oriented
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
* Computer literate – MS Office
* Willing and able to work assigned shift

Requirements:

* Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment within the plant
* Drive and own the TPM process across the plant** (see below)
* Maintain, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and share knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts with other maintenance personnel
* Respond quickly to calls from production to keep equipment operational and ensure production runs smoothly
* Follow all food safety standards, safety rules, GMP rules, and company procedures
* Perform Mechanical PM activities as scheduled and report results
* Perform special projects from time to time as assigned in a cost effective and timely manner
* Communicate effectively with outside vendors and equipment manufacturers
* Work in a safe and efficient manner
* Keep work area clean & orderly
* Perform any other reasonable duties as required or assigned by Management

Position Reports To: Maintenance Team Leader

TPM Responsibilities and Information

** company initiative to empower associates to own their equipment and make decisions to drive out losses
** TPM training would be provided after hire
** Millwright / TPM is the PM systems owner for the line, responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses + building capability in Operating Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall results supporting the Critical Business Drivers (CBDs)
** Drive breakthrough results in planned and unplanned downtime
** Own Maintenance and Repair costs for the line, planned maintenance, PMs and breakdown reduction
** Coach and develop Shift Teams by serving as a technical coach / resource
** Actively participate in Daily Line Meetings and execution of daily action plan
** Additional increases to hourly rate would kick in if individual has additional certifications (Refrigeration Operator B, Plumber, Machinist, HVAC/R Mechanic, Tool & Die Maker, etc.).
