Machine Operator/Technician

The Opportunity:

 Available Shifts:
*Bi-weekly Rotating 12 Hour Continental Rotations (7AM-7PM/7PM-7AM)

OR

*Bi-weekly Rotating 8 Hour Rotations (Midnights, Afternoons, Days)

Salary/Wage: Starting at $18.00/hour with advancement opportunities

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure safe operation of all ice cream packaging machinery you are assigned to
  • Operate and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or product imperfections, and determine where adjustments are needed
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, clean, and adjust production machinery and equipment as needed
  • Identify quality issues and direct to the appropriate channels upon discovery
  • Maintain production and quality records throughout shift
  • Ensure raw materials are properly loaded into packaging machinery
  • In conjunction with Maintenance, assist in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems and assist to expedite repairs
  • Train new team members as needed
  • Support team members to deliver expected business results
  • Follow all personal and product safety policies and procedures

Maintenance Mechanic

The current opportunity is in our Maintenance shop as a Maintenance Mechanic. This position is a Full Time, Permanent role.

Available Shifts:
*12 Hour continental rotating shifts. Days 7am to 7pm, Nights 7am to 7pm, rotating biweekly

Wages: Determined based on incoming candidates’ experience and skills

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, and production machines
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measurement and testing instruments
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
  • works to improve machine efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve quality of our Product and Processes
  • Assemble and align gears, bearings and shafts
  • Maintain effective equipment maintenance schedules and records on all company equipment and tools
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Procure parts for necessary repairs and adjustments

Do You Have What It Takes?

  • Previous maintenance experience working in a production/manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
  • Relevant manufacturing experience
  • Good knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, PLC, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic principles
  • Al least 2+ years experience of proven capacity or formal education in a related field (Manufacturing, Millwright, Engineering, etc)
  • Strong mechanical and technical understanding
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty; troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic electrical experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors
  • Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations

All production openings are Permanent Full-Time positions.

Available Shifts:

Full-Time:
*12-hour rotating continental shifts. Days 7am to 7pm, Nights 7pm-7am,
*8 hour rotating shifts.  Nights 11pm to 7am, Afternoons 3pm to 11pm, Days 7am to 3pm

*12-hour continental straight night shifts, 7pm-7am

Salary/Wage: Starting at $16.00/hour with advancement opportunities

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operating state of the art equipment to manufacture various types of food packaging.
  • Load equipment with raw materials.
  • Visually inspect finish product prior to placing into the shipping box.
  • Make boxes, load product belt, replenish materials around machines such as tape, boxes, and bags.
  • Complete hourly quality checks and assist with quality inspections as needed.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are followed.

Available Shifts:
12 Hour Continental Rotating Shifts (7AM-7PM/7PM-7AM)

Responsibilities and Duties

To support the print department by ensuring Printers are sufficiently maintained with materials to run and meet the client requirements.

  • Ensure paper is loaded into the feeding-end for running jobs, as well as maintain paper and ink supply throughout the job run.
  • Mount plates and cylinders and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Operate various machinery as required (related to printing)
  • Meet customer requirements by completing relevant checklists, cleaning the press and working effectively with other departments to satisfy order details
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and computer issues as they arise on the press
  • Complete required paperwork accurately with high attention to detail
  • Share relevant and pertinent information with the team by remaining in constant communication with the print team
  • Assist with all other associated printing duties

 Do You Have What It Takes?

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar environment
  • Mechanically inclined Able to trouble-shoot machinery issues that may arise
  • Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers and hydraulic feed mechanisms
  • Working knowledge of computers with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues

Full-Time:
8 hour rotating shifts.  Nights 11pm to 7am, Afternoons 3pm to 11pm, Days 7am to 3pm

Salary/Wage: A competitive salary will be discussed with successful applicants.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Direct shift operations assuring efficient production of quality products in accordance with process and product specifications, meeting financial objectives, complying with contractual and customer requirements.
  • Establish and maintain safe and healthy working conditions and environment. Enforce safety rules and regulations. Ensures compliance with legislated requirements and foster environmentally sound waste management practices.
  • Direct the plant level production function. Endorse and implement manufacturing cost savings program to effect continuous improvement.
  • Endorse, justify, administer and manage the shift operating budget. Analyses performance against plans, taking corrective steps to attain shift efficiencies and financial objectives.
  • Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the shift, including provision for selection and development of employees, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, disciplinary action, organization of goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the shift

 Do You Have What It Takes?

  • 2-5 years of experience in production environment.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory or quality management experience in a production environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and employee tracking systems
  • Strong written communication skills to complete shift and quality reports.
  • Experience with coaching and developing team members
  • The ability to assess and develop team member skills as needed
