Varies Marine Mammal Caregiver (1 Position)
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of food and feeding of marine animals within the park
- Cleaning of fish freezers, lines, and husbandry
- Completion of paperwork to document health checks, food intake, husbandry, and medications
- Provide enrichment to the animals
- Provide exceptional guest service to education of guests and answer any related questions.
- Follow all legislative and Marineland Health and Safety policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum age 18
- Able to lift/carry 50+ lbs(23+kg), stand and/or walk throughout the entirety of scheduled shifts, during various weather conditions
- Prior experience in an animal care facility, farm or kennel is required.
- Candidates pursuing studies in Zoology, Animal Science, or other related fields, preferred
- Strong swimming ability, preferred
- Have a practical understanding of the principles of animal behaviour and decision-making skills considered, asset
- Ability to speak in front of large crowds and speak a second language, considered an asset
- Work independently or part of a team
- Support a 7 day a week operation, including evenings, weekends and holidays
