Job Purpose | Overview
The Production Painter, under the supervision of is responsible for painting customary products for our lighting fixtures. This is a key position in a fast paced manufacturing facility that you will be required to paint sub-assemblies and parts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare surfaces for painting
- Use pressure/pot airless equipment to paint both large scale and small scale sub-assemblies.
- Prepare and operate paint booth and equipment.
- Select appropriate paint and mix accordingly.
- Maintain paint booth equipment and personal protective gear.
- Ensure quality of parts are accurate prior to starting the job.
- Responsible for housekeeping and cleanliness of area daily.
- Communicate any ordering of products to purchasing.
- Conduct quality checks of product while painting. Ensure high quality finish and colour correction.
- Report any maintenance required on machine to ensure repairs are adequate and safe
- Report and product, process issues to the Supervisor
- Following all product handling procedures for Standard Operating Procedures and Safety.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and equipment cleaning
- Any additional duties assigned by supervisor, management or authorized personnel all of which to be authorized by management

Qualifications
- High School (GED)
- General knowledge of chemicals and mixing
- Ability to recognize and distinguish colours and shades
- Knowledge of spray equipment
- Knowledge of finishing techniques and products.
- Detail oriented
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive work
- Exposure to chemicals
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Overtime may be required
- Being able to work standing, bending and kneeling for long periods of time
- Pushing; Pulling
- Working it hot or cold temperatures
- Use of required gauges, fixtures and test equipment
