Position: Program Coordinator – Healthy from the Start
Responsible to: CAPC/CPNP Project Manager
Job Description:
To plan and implement a free drop-in health and nutrition program for expectant moms and their children; to promote the growth and development of healthy infants, children and their families.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and plan monthly programming for each HFTS program site.
- Develop and maintain contact with community partner/agencies that are available to provide relevant pre and postnatal information at program site, for expectant mothers.
- Develop supportive relationships with participants and their families.
- Facilitate workshops.
- Provide information and referral on pre-natal care, healthy child development, family resources and supports.
- Register new participants and support outtake of participants following 2 months after child’s birth.
- Network to build contacts and partnerships in the community.
- Represent CPNP Healthy from the Start with community partners, agencies and committees.
- Supervise program support staff.
- Plan service coordination with program support staff.
- General program administration tasks, including bi-weekly timesheets, monthly report, staff scheduling, distributing calendars to partners, evaluation/conducting surveys of program.
The position requires thirty (30) hours per week (15 hours virtual, 15 hours in-person), 12 months per year.
Qualifications:
- Social Services Worker diploma or equivalent/ or Early Childhood Education Diploma
- Knowledge and experience working in the area of prenatal health and nutrition.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership/coordinator position.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with community partners.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Level I and II QCCN Training is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Rate of pay: $16.25 – $18.92 (based on experience)
