Stolk Construction is currently recruiting an experienced Project Facilitator who shares our mission and principles.  Their overall responsibilities will be to work alongside the Project Management team to ensure projects are managed according to strict deadlines and within budget, as well as to manage existing and potential clients to ensure continued growth.  An ideal candidate for this role will possess:

  • A strong desire & commitment to becoming a full-time Project Manager
  • An understanding of construction methods
  • CET certification would be a strong asset
  • Material take-off and cost estimating
  • Ability to prioritize & handle multiple tasks from multiple sources
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking

  • An excellent ability to communicate with other people
  • Ability to read & understand blueprints
  • Valid driver’s license

Compensation:  $45,000-$55,000 + bonus potential

As a Project Facilitator your main role is to ensure the proper execution of the day-to-day field operations.  Proper execution includes project remain on schedule, on budget, in a safe manner all to the mutual satisfaction of Stolk Construction, our clients, our suppliers and our sub-contractors.

You will act as a liaison between key client personnel and our Project Manager and the General Foremen.

Your key functions are noted in bold below including some responsibilities within each of those functions.

 Field / Jobsite Operations           

  • Act as a hub for communication between the client (and/or client representative) and Stolk Construction; as well as between Stolk Construction PM and field personnel
  • Seek opportunities to improve field operations by monitoring field / jobsite activities. Oversee the implementation of provide feedback regarding measurable improvements
  • Participate in scheduling on a weekly basis, updating the PM and the online schedule with manpower needs on an ongoing basis

Client Relations & Retention     

  • Continuously look for opportunities to ‘make the lives of our clients easier’
  • Act as a liaison between key client personnel and the Project Manager
  • Ensure ongoing communication with clients throughout a project; ensure any concerns are resolved in a timely manner. Work with clients to understand how often and what means of communication works best for them
  • Participate in client meetings as needed
  • Communicate ongoing project related information to the client (i.e. project schedules/progress reports)
  • Ensure the level of quality expected by the client is achieved
  • Monitor client satisfaction
  • Provide weekly contact sheet to the President

Safety

  • Evaluate safety items when on jobsites and address and document concerns/resolutions. Educate site personnel on client specific safety requirements
  • Participate in safety training as required and champion company safety policies and procedures

Management of Stolk Construction Personnel and Subcontractors

  • Provide senior level presence in the field; coach field staff on an ongoing basis, providing timely and effective communication in a professional and tactful manner
  • Mentor project team members in order to ensure their continued development and career growth
  • Nurture relationships with subcontractors and vendors and effectively communicate Stolk Construction’s expectations so far as quality, safety and communication

Contract Fulfillment

  • In coordination with the Project Manager develop and execute project work plans aimed at keeping projects on schedule and within budget
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate to the project team in an effort to come up with a resolution
  • Work with the Project Manager and Assistant to the Project Manager to accurately track key project management items (i.e. extras, change orders)
  • In consultation with the Project Manager proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential concerns, and devise contingency
