Full-Time Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector verifies the quality of incoming and outgoing materials and products, as well as ensures that proper production procedures are adhered to. This role involves tasks such as running tests, keeping a record of defects, analyzing products, adhering to ISO 9001 quality standards and overseeing operating procedures.
Ensuring that the finished product adheres to all quality and industry standards prior to sale is of utmost importance. Regular product evaluations and recommended improvements to the production process as the core of this role will ensure quality compliance. This role requires great attention to detail, industry knowledge, and excellent technical capability.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Read blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to understand the production requirements of products
  • Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control standards are adhered to
  • Approve incoming and outgoing materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement testing
  • Measure products based on the drawings with tape measures, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
  • Mark, tag, or note problems. Reject defective items outright, send them back for repair, or fix minor issues.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of work-in-process materials, raw materials, and finished goods
  • Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
  • Communicate the results of inspections and put forward corrective suggestions
  • Working with Product Support, investigate customer complaints regarding quality issues and help develop a solution
  • Conduct ISO 9001 internal audits in conjunction with current ISO standard requirements
  • Teach production teams about quality control concerns to improve product excellence
  • Other tasks assigned by the Vice President of Operations

Evaluation & Measurement:

  • Ensure that outgoing and incoming product conforms to all specifications
  • Continual improvement of quality control procedures and activities
  • Examine the frequency of non-conformances for ISO 9001 and quality-related issues
  • Champion Core Values to the organization

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience operating as a quality control inspector, or other industrial experience
  • Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong regard for quality assurance according to company standards through the application of technical proficiency and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills
  • Must be a team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Must appreciate and acknowledge working responsibilities and authorities within the organization.
