Pay rate
- $17.50/ hour
What you’ll be doing as a Quality Control Technician:
- Report to the Quality Assurance Manager
- Conduct daily physical and chemical testing of production, retain samples and record results
- Prepare daily labels required for production using LabelView
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks
- Ensure GMP are being followed by all production staff
- Review and sign off on all records prior to the production of each food batch
- Prepare daily samples of finished products for lab test submission
- Perform weekly/ monthly/ annual swabbing of the facility
- Conduct monthly raw ingredient testing
- Communicate and collaborate with external laboratories
- Prepare Certification Analysis (COA) as required
- Inspect daily receiving record to ensure COA of all raw ingredients received are available and within specified ranges
- Assist with investigation of customer complaints and implement corrective action where necessary
- Member of the SQF Team, assist with maintenance and verification of SQF records and documents
- Asist with SQF, Halal, Kosher, customer and any other audits as required
- Provide backup and support of all other food quality/ safety functions as required
- Perform other QA/ QC functions as directed
Available Shifts:
- Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day)
- 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM shifts with opportunities for overtime
Job Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot
- Detail-orientated with strong time-management and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, LabelView and understanding food safety and allergens is an asset
