Location NEW LOCATION! Our Lady of the Holy Rosay – Thorold



Pay RECE pay range – $21.03 – $22.85/hr (includes WEG), with YMCA Health/Dental Benefits, paid sick days and generous vacation plan, YMCA Pension Plan, YMCA Membership benefits and ECCDC Membership
Employment Type Full Time – 37. 5 hours a week (availability between 7am-6pm required)

The role of the RECE is to help carry out the day-to-day operations of the Child Care centre, helping to implement programs for children in care within the requirements of the current curriculum.


  • Responsible for the care and safety of the children
  • Organize and ensure meal distribution is done in a safe and timely manner
  • Maintenance of the kitchen space, including clean-up and dishes
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all parents, children, and fellow team members
  • Participate in training and adhere to the YMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures as established by the YMCA of Niagara
  • Organize and implement activities for the group as outlined in the YMCA Playing To Learn curriculum
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all parents, children and fellow staff
  • Participate in training sessions when required including Food Handlers Certification


  • Registered Early Childhood Educator, or Proof of enrollment in an accredited ECE program
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Current standard first aid, and CPR – C certification
  • A clear Criminal Reference Check – Vulnerable Sector Search issued for the YMCA of Niagara
  • Food Handlers Certificate
