Job Description
At Archer Traffic Control Inc., our mission is to provide traffic control services in a manner that eliminates safety hazards, public and customer frustration, unnecessary time consumption, and unnecessary costs. Offering services at any level, we can handle large multi-crew projects that may run months in duration and on-off jobs that may only last a couple of hours. Currently, we are seeking Traffic Control People to join our team. We offer 25-50+ hours per week, full training, benefits and a competitive wage in a unionized environment.
Purpose of Position:
The Traffic Control Persons’ responsibilities include monitoring the flow of traffic around road construction sites and informing motorists of possible detour routes.
Duties Include:
- Using Stop/Slow paddle to direct traffic around road construction sites
- Communicating with other Traffic Control Persons using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic into a single lane
- Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety
- Appropriately position warning and safety zones around construction sites and remove at the completion of construction work
- May be on call to offer support for emergency calls
Requirements:
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- 6-inch steel toe boots that cover the ankle
- Reliable, dependable and punctual
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
