Full-Time Universal Worker (1 Position)
Job Description
Job Gym is supporting a Niagara Falls based retirement home to recruit candidates for their newly created, Universal Worker position. This is a full time position, scheduled Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm.
The purpose of this role will be to support the PSW team by assisting with various tasks unrelated to personal care. This includes but is not limited to: portering residents to various areas of the property; providing companion support to residents; assisting with resident requests such as opening windows, getting mail or locating things for them.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with seniors
- Compassionate, caring, respectful and kind – proven ability to build rapport easily
- Must provide a vulnerable sector check upon hire
- Physically fit to perform tasks – this position will require staff to be walking most of their shift
- First Aid/CPR is an asset
- Ability and willingness to follow all sanitization, health and safety procedures in order to protect both staff and residents
