Full-Time Urban Indigenous Healthy Living Coordinator—Kids (1 Position)
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Urban Indigenous Healthy Living Coordinator– Kids will be responsible to design, develop, coordinate, facilitate and evaluate healthy lifestyle program based on needs and interests specifically for Indigenous children and youth. The Urban Indigenous Healthy Living Coordinator—Kids will ensure that the program design and delivery complies with NRNC and OFIFC standards of performance and that all program requirements are attained. Knowledge of Indigenous community and history is crucial to supporting the Friendship Centre movement.
Requirements:
- Must have a Sports and Recreation diploma or relevant experience in the field.
- Experience in program promotion with the community, specifically targeting Indigenous children and youth
- Knowledge of healthy lifestyle behaviours and nutrition and on-going program promotion with the community.
- Able to establish and maintain relationships with local community sports, fitness and recreation organizations.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent computer skills and database reporting.
- Excellent research and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of Office 365.
- Experience working within a community based organization.
- Must have valid driver’s licence, Insurance and reliable vehicle.
- Must have or able to obtain a clear CPIC for the Vulnerable Sector.
