Job Description: Water Delivery Driver
The primary responsibilities of the water delivery driver include efficiently and safely driving a cargo van and box truck to deliver 18L and 11L water bottles and salt to business and residential customers on a daily basis. Delivering an exceptional customer experience and completing the job in a timely manner is expected.
Responsibilities
Daily
- Deliver water as per the daily schedule and pick up all empty water bottles at the customers home or business.
- Begin each day at the scheduled start time and finish once all deliveries are completed.
- Be in proper, clean Water Superstore uniform with proper steel toed footwear.
- Load the cargo van with the correct amount of water bottles as per the schedule.
- Unload full and empty bottles at the end of each shift.
- Ensure there is sufficient amount of fuel in the van.
- Ensure bottles are clean and presentable prior to leaving them with the customer.
- Clean water coolers either on site at the clients’ location or at the Water
- Superstores warehouse.
- Ensure the van is kept clean and tidy inside and out.
- Balance any cash payments from customers and maintain a consistent float as per the beginning float balance.
- Check in with the office before the end of shift to ensure all deliveries have been completed for the day.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurately completed and handed in at the end of your shift.
- Be willing to accept extra deliveries that may occur during the day.
- Maintain safe driving and follow all posted speed limits and road rules.
Customer Service/Sales
- Interact in a friendly and courteous manner with all customers.
- Suggest new products/ improvements to enhance the customer experience.
- Offer / mention current promotions to clients.
- Make an effort to earn new water delivery clients- building your routes to maximize the full delivery day and increase sales.
- Service all customer requests in a timely manner.
- Be a courteous driver at all times while being aware of the responsibilities. that are entrusted to you while driving a van with the company logo.
Communication
- Communicate any delivery concerns, notes, changes or requests from the customers the delivery administrator.
- Continual improvement is the goal. Communicate ideas for improvement including route management to the delivery administrator.
- Represent a positive, clean, professional image of the Water Superstore at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid G class drivers license
- Clean drivers abstract
- 5 years driving experience
- Age 25+ (insurance requirement)
- Able to lift 50 pounds repetitively
- Able to drive a 24 foot box automatic truck
- Able to drive an electric tow motor
