Seasonal Social Media Coordinator – Welland Downtown Business Improvement Area

Job Description

Type of Employment: Seasonal Full Time

Work Schedule: 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday (flexible)

Hours: 35 Hours per week

Start Date: Immediate – May 2024

End Date: August 31, 2024

Hourly Rate: $17.55/hour

Location: Hybrid – Downtown Welland / Remote

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking and audience identification.
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.
  • Handle day-to-day implementation of social and digital tactics.
  • Assist with creative content and video editing work.
  • Assist with the production of content including graphics, video and interactive.
  • Assist in implementation of communications strategies.
  • Provide administrative support to programs and internal teams.
  • Draft and edit communications copy.
  • Maintain and update website content.
  • Update databases, media lists and WDBIA website.
  • Create WDBIA monthly Newsletter template and gather appropriate content.
  • Maintain calendars and schedules.
  • Assist with fulfilling event sponsorship obligations.
  • On-site live streaming at downtown events and businesses.
  • Answer calls, emails and basic administrative duties.
  • Attend Welland Downtown BIA events.

We require the following skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office. Word, Excel
  • Proficiency in MailChimp
  • Proficiency in design software – Canva, InDesign, Photoshop etc.
  • Strong self-starter, highly motivated and reliable

Reports to: Executive Director
