This role promotes independent community living by assisting service users in accessing resources, developing coping strategies, and achieving their personal goals.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Successful completion of a university undergraduate degree in the human service field or an accredited college diploma in the Social Service Worker program<\/li>\n<li>2 &#8211; 3 years of employment experience in the mental health field<\/li>\n<li>Relevant registration with a regulated body is highly preferred<\/li>\n<li>Minimum Level 1 Behavioural Competencies (Canada\u2019s Substance Abuse Workforce) for all Support and Outreach positions<\/li>\n<li>Certified in Crisis Intervention (i.e. NVCI, Safety Care, CPI, or Safe Management), Standard First Aid \u2013 CPR C &#8211; AED, Suicide Prevention (ASIST), Mental Health First Aid, and Concurrent Disorder Support<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications<\/li>\n<li>Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or verification of inability to be vaccinated<\/li>\n<li>Access to a reliable personal vehicle and a valid class &#8216;G&#8217; driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check)<\/li>\n<li>Bilingualism is an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Provide necessary support and guidance to service users to enable independent community living<\/li>\n<li>Assist service users in becoming familiar with and comfortable using community services<\/li>\n<li>Promote the development of individualized goals and support plans to achieve them<\/li>\n<li>Support service users in developing coping mechanisms for distress situations, symptom management, and anger management, while monitoring effectiveness<\/li>\n<li>Arrange additional support services as needed<\/li>\n<li>Advocate on behalf of service users with landlords, doctors, hospital workers, social assistance workers, the Public Trustee, police, and other community agencies<\/li>\n<li>Act as a resource to other service providers through education, advocacy, and consultations<\/li>\n<li>Actively monitor, record, and report on service users&#8217; progress<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> $28.05 &#8211; $35.06 per hour<br \/>\n<strong>Hours:<\/strong> 35 hours per week<\/p>\n<p><strong>AI Use in Hiring Process:<\/strong> No<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Application Instructions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Interested candidates should submit their applications via email to <a><strong>hr@cmhaniagara.ca<\/strong><\/a>.
