Previous experience in the field of recreation and working with adults with a disability. Related recreation and leisure studies and\/or equivalent. Volunteer experience would be an asset. Have a valid driver\u2019s licence and be willing to drive the Tanguay Place van. <b>Please note that this <\/b><strong>position is for students and therefore, applicants must be returning back to school this September.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assisting and promoting residents\u2019 physical abilities<\/li>\n<li>Assisting residents with leisure education and supporting their recreational and leisure pursuits<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with planning and support of community outings and leisure time integration<\/li>\n<li>Providing our residents with opportunities to develop skills for recreation and leisure pursuits<\/li>\n<li>Provide unstructured recreational activities<\/li>\n<li>Provide transportation and accompany residents with appointments, activities and outings<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the facilitation and communication of community recreation, leisure activities and other special events<\/li>\n<li>Promote appropriate resident behaviour and social conduct at all times<\/li>\n<li>Encourage, promote and expand our volunteer network and recommend appropriate recognition of volunteer services<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the routine monitoring and maintaining of resident care plans<\/li>\n<li>Participate in resident care plan and team meetings, as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General Employment Practices:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Being available for flexible hours Monday to Friday as well as evening and week-end duties<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining effective working relationships with all staff, volunteers, residents and their significant others<\/li>\n<li>Able to work independently and as a team member<\/li>\n<li>Promote a positive awareness and image of Tanguay Place with the public and other community agencies<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of the Collective Agreement<\/li>\n<li>Be knowledgeable and practice Health and Safety procedures of Tanguay
